Vidya Lakshmi Education Loan Portal

The Vidya Lakshmi Portal is an initiative by the Government of India to make education loans more transparent, accessible, and convenient for every student especially those who dream of studying abroad but need financial support.

It is managed by NSDL e-Governance Infrastructure Ltd. under the guidance of the Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Education, and the Indian Banks Association (IBA).

What the Portal  Offers

Vidya Lakshmi is a single online platform where students can:

Search, compare, and apply for education loans offered by multiple banks.

Submit a single application form (CELAF) that reaches multiple banks at once.

Track the status of their loan application directly on the portal.

Get guidance on the terms, interest rates, and repayment policies of various banks.
